eCommerce Development

Retail and trade commerce for premium brands — including gated wholesale pricing, quote flows and specifier portals, not just a cart.

The situation

Premium brands rarely sell one way. There is retail, there is trade, there is the specifier who needs a quote, and there is the client who expects the experience to match the product.

Most platforms handle the first and force everything else into workarounds.

How we do it

  1. 01

    Model the routes

Retail, trade, quote and commission journeys as distinct paths.

  2. 02

    Design the catalogue

Structure that survives the product range growing.

  3. 03

    Build

Checkout, gated pricing, configurators, tax and shipping logic.

  4. 04

    Connect

Stock, fulfilment, accounting and marketing systems.

  5. 05

    Prove

Real transactions, real failure modes, real devices.

  6. 06

    Optimise

Conversion work against evidence rather than opinion.

Questions we get asked

Shopify or custom?

Shopify handles the majority of premium retail extremely well and we build on it often. Custom becomes the right answer when the commercial model does not fit a cart — complex configuration, approval chains, or a trade programme with its own pricing logic.

Can you support a trade programme?

Yes. Gated pricing, account-level terms, quote requests and specifier access are common requirements for furniture, lighting, materials and equipment brands, and we have built them.

Can you move an existing store without losing customers or orders?

Yes, and it is the part worth planning hardest. Customer accounts, order history and — for digital products — the entitlements linking a customer to what they bought all have to move together. Passwords cannot be carried between platforms, so the account experience is designed around that rather than discovered at launch. We have migrated a live digital-product store of 13,000 customers off Wix onto WordPress with orders still arriving during the cutover.

Tell us what is changing in the business.

If we are not the right partner for it, we will say so in the first conversation.
