Spoormaker & Partners
A specialist building-services engineering firm, made legible to the people who commission buildings.
Wide cinematic still of a modern building services plant room — polished pipework, chillers and ducting, lit cool and clean, shot slightly low and symmetrical. Dark, precise, almost architectural. No people. This is the frame the scroll cinematic resolves to.

Consulting engineers since 1964, responsible for the systems nobody sees — mechanical, electrical, fire, plumbing, vertical transportation — inside buildings everybody knows.
Screenshot of the previous website, shown on a desktop browser at full width, slightly desaturated. Used as the honest before-state — do not stylise or clean it up.
Save as /public/img/spoormaker-before.webpThe problem
The work is highly specialised and largely invisible. A generic web presence made a sixty-year engineering practice look interchangeable with anyone who owns a van.
The response
Lead with the invisible layer. Show the coordination, the integrated model, the disciplines working as one system — and make the scale of the buildings do the persuading.
A 3D-modelled building services system rendered as a clean isometric — plant room, risers and ducting picked out in white line-work against near-black, with one warm accent highlighting a single subsystem. Technical drawing energy, not a video game render.

A scroll-driven cinematic pinned across the opening of the site: the camera moves through the modelled system as you scroll, with the copy holding still while the depth layer moves.
Three frames from the scroll cinematic laid side by side as a filmstrip — establishing wide, mid push-in, and interior detail — with faint frame numbers beneath each. Shows the sequence rather than a single moment.

The sequence is modelled and rendered to video, then scrubbed by scroll position inside a pinned viewport rather than simulated live in the browser. Cheaper to run, far more reliable across devices, and it survives a mid-range Android.
A clean performance readout — Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse scores presented as a simple data card on dark ground. Real numbers, no dashboard chrome. Replace with an actual screenshot once measured.

A seven-route platform with a published insight system, presenting a specialist practice at the standard of the buildings it works on.
