Get Yachties

A two-sided marine platform we built and operate ourselves — crew profiles, employer credits, verified unlocks.

Superyacht crew at work on deck — early morning light, uniform whites, the vessel implied rather than shown whole. Editorial and aspirational, not stock-photo cheerful.

01

The venture

Ours, which is why we can publish how it works in detail no client NDA would allow. Crew list a profile; captains and owners buy credits to unlock contact details, CVs and references.

02

The problem

Yacht crew hiring runs on word of mouth and closed WhatsApp groups. It works until you need someone next week, in another country, with a specific certification.

03

The architecture

Row-level security so a profile is only ever visible to an employer who has paid to unlock it, a credit ledger that survives partial failures, and an unlock record that is auditable in both directions.

Clean database schema diagram — tables and relationships as boxes and lines on dark ground, one accent colour marking the row-level-security boundary. Technical documentation register, legible at a glance.

What went wrong

Three QA cycles, and the interesting failures were all in state: partially completed payments, unlocks recorded before the charge settled, and a photo path that pointed at storage that had moved.

05

Where it stands

Live and operating. The build notes on each of those failures are published in full, because the value is in the mistakes rather than the feature list.
