Paid Media

Google and Meta run against the same positioning as the site, so the click and what follows it are one experience rather than two briefs.

The situation

Most paid media underperforms for a reason that has nothing to do with the ads. The campaign is briefed to one supplier, the landing experience to another, and the follow-up to nobody — so spend buys attention that the next screen throws away.

We would rather fix what happens after the click than argue about bid strategy. Usually there is more money in the second problem.

How we do it

  1. 01

    Check the destination first

If the page after the click cannot convert, more traffic makes the loss bigger. This is the honest starting point.

  2. 02

    Define the economics

What a customer is worth, and therefore what an acquisition can cost. Everything else follows from that number.

  3. 03

    Build the structure

Account architecture, audiences, exclusions and measurement — set up so the reporting will mean something later.

  4. 04

    Run and read

Creative and landing experience tested together, because they fail together.

  5. 05

    Connect the outcome

Conversions passed back with attribution intact, so spend is judged on customers rather than clicks.

  6. 06

    Report plainly

What worked, what did not, what we are changing. No vanity dashboards.

Questions we get asked

Will you guarantee a return on ad spend?

No, and be careful of anyone who does. Results depend on your margins, your market and your offer as much as on the advertising. We will tell you before we start whether we think the economics work, and we would rather decline than take a budget we do not believe in.

Can you work with our existing agency?

Yes. A common engagement is us fixing the landing experience and conversion tracking while another team runs the media. Everyone does better when the two are actually connected.

What do you need from us to start?

Access rather than assets: ad accounts, analytics and whatever you know about what a customer is worth. That last one is usually the missing piece, and it is the one that determines whether any of this is a good idea.

Tell us what is changing in the business.

If we are not the right partner for it, we will say so in the first conversation.
